Whether we're sea kayaking or cycling we'll provide you with a spirited adventure holiday that will introduce you to the natural and cultural history of the region you have chosen to travel.
We offer day tours, multi-day tours, special tours and professional instruction. No prior experience is necessary for taking an active approach to learning about a region, nor is age a limiting factor. However, a love for the outdoors and a desire to experience new and exciting things is recommended.

All CSE Tour Guides are certified with ACSKG/SKGABC or AECSKO and are well versed in the areas you will be paddling.

YOUR TOUR DIRECTOR
college paper Peter Whaley (owner/operator) of Coastal Spirit Expeditions is no stranger to the outdoors. At a very early age he found his sea legs and became as comfortable on the water as he did on land. Now, some 30 years later, he is an accomplished kayaker, canoeist, cyclist and skier. Peters extensive trip log has taken him to some of the most beautiful places in the world.
Peter is a graduate of the Adventure Travel Guide Program at the University College of the Cariboo in British Columbia and now holds many certifications, some of which include:
•ACSKG (Association of Canadian Sea Kayak Guides)
•SKGABC(Sea Kayak Guides Alliance of British Columbia)
•SRT (Swift Water Rescue Technician) Instructor with Rescue 3 International
•SAR (Search and Rescue) manager with PEP (Rrovincial Emergency Program)
A strong medical background in Paramedics and Advanced Wilderness first aid compliments his extensive, practical experience. Photography is also a passion, as every trip is documented and captured through his various lenses. |

Get the most out of your adventure holiday, try our 5-day Kaycycle tours. What better way to enjoy the coastline then by combining the two most exhilarating modes of adventure travel, the bike and the kayak.
The first half of your tour will be spent sea kayaking while the second half of the tour will be spent cycling—beautiful coastline paddling and cycling all in one. |

Day 1-The first night will be spent at our century old heritage home, ‘The Murray House’. Here we will discuss days gone by and the adventure that lay ahead, at our own ‘Salty Dog Café’. |

Day 2- We will drive to our put–in at the picturesque Pictou Lodge and begin our journey along the Northumberland Strait. Our coastline adventure will take us towards one of the most beautiful beaches in Nova Scotia, Melmerby Beach.

Day 3- We will continue our exploration of the coastline along the Island of Merigomish. Here we will disembark, put our paddles and life jackets away and prepare for 2 days of cycling around Cape George, also known as ‘The little Cabot Trail’.

Day 4- Our first day of cycling will take us to the dramatic headland of Cape George following the scenic Sunrise Trail. A beautiful vista by a lighthouse awaits us.

Day 5- Will bring us into the Highland games capital of Canada, Antigonish. If we time it right we may be able to see some caber tossing! It’s then a shuttle back to ‘The Murray House’ for a well deserved guiness, fabulous meal, celebration and good night's sleep.
